Vermont veterans group promotes peace

The Burlington Free Press reports that since 1990, the Will Miller Green Mountain Veterans for Peace chapter has worked to "rais[e] awareness about the effects of war on all involved, through nonviolent means." Indeed, the chapter's members "produce a monthly televised forum for topics relating to their cause, host rallies and lectures, and march in parades during the summer months." At a recent meeting members voiced their concerns about Iraqi civilian casualties and about health care available to injured and mentally traumatized soldiers returning home from war.
