Winooski's new teacher contract lacks usual step pay increases

Last month, Winooski teachers and the city’s school board reached a last-minute contract deal that averted a strike. The agreement does not include a staple of Vermont teachers’ contracts: Step increases. Step increases are pay raises given to teachers based on their experience and education levels, on top of base pay increases.
