Vt. Wood Warms program heating for colder weather

The Bennington Banner reports that Wood Warms, a program that provides inexpensive wood to people struggling to heat their homes, "won't be fully operational until next year." To date, "the program has gathered 1,600 cords of wood but most of it is green, meaning that it was cut recently and is wet" and would "cause a build up of creosote inside the stove or the chimney." The program also has about 100 cords of dry wood on hand, mostly donated, which should be available for the heating season.
